JACK EGAN    


Jack is currently the coach of the Australian IDO Tap Team, travelling across Europe for competitions and further training annually since 2012. He is also the first Australian to become an accredited Judge for the International Dance Organisation (IDO), judging at the IDO World Tap Championships in Riesa, Germany.

 

His students have travelled the world across Europe and Asia to compete and promote Australian Tap dance, using his choreography to achieve numerous finals appearances in the IDO World Tap Championships with a 2nd place in 2012 and 3rd in 2015 as well as a 2nd place in the Dance World Cup 2015 in Romania. He also competed in the “Battle of the feet” in Reisa, Germany amongst 12 another nations to battle out the best tap dancers of each country where he was awarded 3rd place. He now conducts and judges this section annually.

 

Jack has been a part of tap groups such as Three feet of beat, The Tap Pack and One Big Blur before establishing himself as a choreographer and teacher based out of Melbourne. His teaching style has progressed by individualizing himself, merging his upbringing in traditional tap dance towards a more rhythmical based hoofing.
