Kricket Forster learnt her technical foundation for dance at Dianne McLellan Dancers in Bundaberg (QLD),performing in National & International Comps over her formative years to a very competitive level. Going on to obtain her Full Teachers Diploma in Tap (CSTD) while developing her teaching skills at Roby Rogers School of Dance in Mackay. With almost 2 decades of experience teaching dance throughout Queensland then Melbourne, for a varied range of age groups, levels and facets including classical, musical theatre, jazz and tap, Krick has a versatile approach to choreography.
Kricket's quirky movement and rhythm-driven style of tap has found her a professional performance crew member of Melbourne Tap Dance from 2012, creator of original tap dance musical 'Beacon', tap advice writer for Dancetrain magazine, a regular performer, judge and faculty member of Australian Tap Dance Festival, adjudicator and mentor for New Zealand National Young Performers Awards, choreographer for CSTD Tap Syllabus and founder of Melbourne-based tap project 'Pickled Beats'. Among all these experiences, she has performed in a large contingency of shows, festivals and events including multiple years at the annual St Kilda Festival, and as entertainment for frequent corporate events, often featuring her unique choreographic input.
Kricket's love of creation in all its forms finds her fusing styles and art forms which is frequently evident in her work. It is her greatest passion to collaborate and share, so she is pumped to be a part of the Australian Tap Dance Festival Faculty for 2020 and can’t wait to bring her energetic brand to play with ‘tap family’.
