Ben is an original member of Dein Perry’s Tap Dogs spent 7 years with the company as assistant to the choreographer, dance captain and assistant choreographer of Dein Perry’s Steel City. His role entailed performing & training the 2nd Australian, the USA and UK casts of Tap Dogs. At the young age of 21, he won the Angel award at the Spoleto festival in Italy for his work on the show.
He has since dedicated the last 30 + years in the entertainment industry as a performer, choreographer, dance educator and mentor throughout Australia and the world. Furthering his main objective for creating opportunities for young dancers to help educate and share his love of he arts as well as his knowledge of the industry with the next generation of young performers.
In a time of change in the arts, Ben recognises that there must be new ways to keep performing and bringing smiles to people’s faces. As such, ReBoot was created to help ReBoot the Arts. As all artist do, they evolved creating new public performance opportunities and are currently working with the Gold Coast city council on an activation to not only reboot the arts but local businesses too.
Ben’s vision is that this group of male and female tap dancers can work together and separately to help activate spaces, buildings and venues and bring invite more people into the arts, and the Tap dance community.
